English Motets of The Renaissance
The Gesualdo Six make their Northwest début with music by English Renaissance masters, encompassing florid medieval-sounding pieces by Morley and Sheryngham, intricate works by Tallis and Byrd, and the beautiful simplicity of Gibbons and Tomkins.
At the 400th anniversary of his passing, the ensemble pays special homage to the music of William Byrd, one of the foremost composers of the European Renaissance, and of any time.
The Gesualdo Six is a British vocal ensemble comprising some of the UK’s finest consort singers. Formed at Trinity College, Cambridge in 2014, the ensemble has gone on to perform at numerous major festivals across the world.
