In You, O Woman Full of Grace

From the earliest days of the Christian tradition, the faithful have venerated the Virgin Mary through song, telling the story of her life and of the cosmic significance of her role as the Mother of God. This program presents music for her drawn from the Greek and Slavic traditions by both ancient and modern composers. We give a special place to composer John Tavener, whose music Cappella Romana will perform at a festival in his honor in Athens, Greece later this year.
