Pacific Youth Choir

Guest Choir

Pacific Youth Choir serves 300 singers in ten auditioned choirs from K through 12th grade. Established in 2003 by Mia Hall Miller, PYC has become a cultural resource that changes lives through high-level choral artistry in an open, joyful, and nurturing environment. This season PYC expanded our outreach program by providing free after school choir programs at a third location. We’re at Whitman and Marysville schools and Wattles Boys and Girls Club in SE Portland, serving almost 100 young singers weekly.

PYC, honored to be “In Residence” at Trinity Cathedral, collaborates regularly with Oregon’s top musical organizations including: Oregon Symphony Orchestra, Eugene Symphony, Oregon Ballet Theater, Whitebird Dance, Trinity Choir, Metropolitan Youth Symphony, and Thomas Lauderdale and Pink Martini in performances and recordings.

PYC have sung for five American Choral Directors Association conventions. Most recently two PYC choirs performed at the 2016 convention; Cascadia – our middle school treble choir, and Coro Pacifica – our high school women’s choir. In 2019 we hosted the first Portland Youth Choral Festival with Chanticleer as our special guest clinicians, which included singers from Grant High School, Sam Barlow High School, Rex Putnam High School, Sunset High School, and Pacific Youth Choir singers.

Pacific Youth Choir (PYC) is a graduated choral program featuring 10 auditioned choirs that serve singers from K-12th grade. We operate under a mission to change lives through high level choral artistry in an open, joyful, and nurturing environment. For more information please visit our website or call (503) 780-1675.
