Cappella Romana presents an enchanting programme of medieval Byzantine chants that convey the spiritual experience of Jerusalem as a place of pilgrimage. In the Middle Ages, the Holy City functioned as a kind of super museum full of rituals, relics and sacred music. This musical reconstruction focuses on the impressive ceremonies of Good Friday and Easter, as once experienced in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre – heart of faith, wonder and devotion.
