Cappella Romana at the Maliotis Cultural Center in Boston


Cappella Romana and the Maliotis Cultural Center are collaborating to launch Byzantine Chant: The Received Tradition , A Lesson Book, the long-awaited, comprehensive manual on the psaltic art by John Michael Boyer, Protopsaltis of the Metropolis of San Francisco and our Associate Music Director. The Maliotis Cultural Center is hosting the event in the auditorium on Wednesday, 15 February at 6:00pm, with Fr. Romanos Karanos, Cappella Romana, and other honored guests in attendance.

This event also marks the launch of Cappella Romana Publishing as a new imprint for high-quality publications of scores, scholarship, and pastoral materials related to and celebrating the ecclesiastical music of the Orthodox Church in all of its richness and variety.

The book launch is part of a four-day residency in Boston, including a lecture by our Music Director Alexander Lingas on the rite of Hagia Sophia, and our concert The Byzantine Choral Inheritance at First Church, Cambridge
