Two programs of Russian Orthodox choral works from Titov to Bortniansky, in up to 12 individual parts
Cappella Romana will present an historic review of Baroque and Classical repertoire from Russia. Mark Bailey, a recognized expert in Slavic sacred music, will direct the choir. A broadly experienced lecturer, conductor, and composer, he is the director of the Yale Russian Chorus (YRC) and also serves as artistic director of the American Baroque Orchestra.
Cappella Romana will perform a different program each evening. Cappella Romana’s Abbey Bach Festival performances are made possible by a grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust.

The program of Russian Orthodox choral works described above will be performed at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Beaverton on Saturday July 28. One recital at 5pm and another a 7pm. Enjoy music and delicious Greek food and dancing on your visit to the Glendi Greek Festival.
