Sun of Justice: Byzantine Chant for the Nativity of our Lord

Christmas is coming, and so is John Michael Boyer’s Sun of Justice: Byzantine Chant for the Nativity of Our Lord! Pre-orders for the book get a digital download of the Brief Katavasies for Christmas, which are first sung in Matins on November 25, and the Pre-festal chants, which begin to appear in Divine Liturgy on November 26.

Cantors and choirs are already rehearsing with these scores, including Fr. Vasile Tudora of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Euless, TX, and Jamie Tarasidis of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Greenville, SC. You can listen to what they’re doing here:

If you’ve pre-ordered Sun of Justice and are a parish cantor/choir that’s getting this music ready for the season, we’d love to hear what you’re doing! Post a video in your social media outlet of choice with the hashtag #SunOfJusticeBook. And, if you’re pre-ordering the book soon, by all means share a video with us when you’ve had a chance to dive into those scores!

Thanks so much for supporting John’s book and Cappella Romana Publishing — this music is for you!
