COVID-19 Updates

Our commitment to you, our audiences

A fully vaccinated house

Our top priority is the safety of the Cappella Romana audiences, singers, staff, and volunteers.

In consultation with public health experts and peer organizations worldwide, Cappella Romana has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy for audiences. Cappella Romana will ask you to show proof of vaccination upon arrival. To see all local organizations that are in accordance with each other on COVID-19 policies visit www.pdxartsvax.org.

All singers and staff must also be vaccinated. In compliance with CDC guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals, we are planning for audiences at full seating capacity.

For example, the Utrecht Early Music Festival in the Netherlands, where Cappella Romana will give the Festival Finale concert on September 5, 2021, is requiring fully vaccinated audiences and artists. Link here (click on EN for English)

Cappella Romana will provide you with a new, clean Cappella Mask to wear at the first concert of the season.

Cappella Romana’s artists may also be masked, according to current CDC, state and local requirements.

Also as part of our changes this season, we will not be hosting pre-concert talks.

Audience Requirements

  • All audience members must be fully vaccinated. To be considered fully vaccinated, you must receive your second dose of a two-dose series two weeks before attendance, or two weeks before attendance with a single-dose vaccine.

  •  Cappella Romana house staff will need to see proof of vaccination against COVID-19
  • All audience members must provide in-person verification of vaccination before entering. You will be asked to provide proof of vaccination through the CLEAR app (if available to you) or an original physical vaccination card or photograph of it. Trained individuals will review your proof of vaccination as you arrive.
  • Children under the age of 12, for whom there is no currently available vaccine, are not permitted to enter Cappella Romana concerts regardless of the vaccination status of their guardian(s). As soon as children under the age of 12 become eligible to receive a vaccine, Cappella Romana will welcome fully vaccinated children to its concerts.
  • Masks are currently required for indoor events in accordance with state and local and venue regulations. Cappella Romana will provide a new, clean Cappella mask to wear at this first concert of the season. You may, of course, bring your own, but the audience must be masked.

Ensuring Your Safety

  • We have completed work to confirm that air systems at our church venues comply with city, state, and national COVID safety standards.
  • We encourage audiences to refrain from using bathroom facilities at our church venues; some venues may not allow their use at all. The concerts are planned to be about 70 minutes without intermission.

  • We will leave doors open to allow for touchless entry to our venues.
  • We have enhanced our cleaning procedures and will offer hand sanitizer.
  • We will be offering eTickets/contactless entry options for pre-sold tickets.
  • We will send all ticket buyers a pre-concert email with specific health and safety protocols.
  • All precautions and protocols are subject to change based on current recommendations from local, state and federal health departments and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Ticket Flexibility

  • In recognition of the uncertainty created by the current health situation, we plan to be as flexible and accommodating as possible in the event you are unable to attend a concert. In this case, you will be granted free access to the livestream of the program you have purchased.
  • If you are unable to attend either the performance or the livestream for any reason, you will be eligible for a complimentary exchange into a future concert.

  • You may request exchanges up until the starting time of a concert. We will ask ticket buyers to pay the difference in price, should the replacement concert ticket price exceed that of the original ticket. To request an exchange, please call us at 503-236-8202.
  • If a concert program is fully cancelled and cannot take place at all, Cappella Romana will offer full refunds.

*Please note: This is the policy of Cappella Romana, and not the church venues we perform in whose regulations may be less restrictive.
